Who are needed to mandatorily maintain books of accounts?

Professionals-If gross receipts exceed ₹2.5 lakh in any of the 3 preceding years, they must maintain books.

Businesses-If income exceeds ₹2.5 lakh or total turnover exceeds ₹25 lakh in any of the 3 preceding years, If new business it is for current year –

a) Presumptive Taxation Scheme-Those who opt out of PTS (under sections 44AD, 44ADA, 44AE) must maintain books. (PTS)

b) ​All companies (private or public) must maintain books of account, irrespective of income or turnover.

c) Trusts, NGOs, LLPs, Co-operative Societies

Type of FSSAI Registration | License

Basically for all the small food related business required legal registration to starting a business in India. In this legal registration business incorporation entity like private limited company or proprietorship firm etc are included. Apart from this you need other license like Food License or GST Registration etc. so Food License and FSSAI License are the same.

There are mainly 3 type of the Food License or FSSAI License category which is required by each food related business.

​a) FSSAI Basic Registration –FSSAI Basic Registration is required by the small business which have turnover less than 12 lakh rupees in a year. So if you are just starting your business then its required only the basic FSSAI or Food License Registration. Turnover is calculated on the yearly basis.

b) FSSAI State License Registration -If you have already the FSSAI Basic Registration and cross the turnover of the 12 lakh rupees in a year but less than 20 Cr. rupees then its required the FSSAI State License Registration.

c) FSSAI Central License Registration -If you are starting import export business or want to supply at the government various department then its required the FSSAI Central License Registration.even it’s also required for the large scale turnover more than 20 Cr. in a year companies.

Food and Safety Department is related to the FSSAI Department. Food and Safety department works to farming rules regarding the food related articles and implementation of the policies. It’s also provide the scientific and technical support to the central govt regarding the food related articles. What is FSSAI Registration Fee or Cost?

FSSAI Registration Form

FSSAI Registration or Food License have mainly 2 type of the forms i.e is Form A & Form B.

Below are the details about the both Forms –

Form A For basic FSSAI Registration –Form A is basic fssai registration form fillup by the food business operator. Its Comprises of an FBOs Business activities.

Form B for State FSSAI Registration –Form B is required for the State Food License Registration. It’s a mandatory form with the required above documents for the state license registration.

Important Guidelines for the Food License Registration

If any food operator is operating in more than 10 state then its required the central registration for the registered office.

If Importers or exporters apply for the FSSAI Registration then they need IEC Code before the Food License & have to apply on the same address.

The brand owner have to display the FASSI Logo and license number on the food package.
